Our 2024 Annual Newsletter

A Note from the CEO

To Our Customers and Partners,
What a year it has been for the team here at Rigado! We've added many exciting software features to our platform and announced a new hardware production: the Cascade 5000 IoT Access Point, which will ship in 2025. We've already conducted some initial lab tests with customers and the team is preparing for the production phase and first customer shipments.

On the market side, we've expanded partnerships with major retail technology providers and are now starting to see deployments of IoT capabilities at some large retailers. Electronic shelf labels continue to be a focus particularly in grocery, but we are also seeing a big push in digital locks and real-time asset monitoring.

You may have seen Rigado's significant presence at Groceryshop 2024 (more on that below), and in just a few weeks I'll be heading out to the National Retail Federation Big Show in New York. These events are a great way to see the scope the innovation happening in the retail and grocery, and the opportunity for Rigado to hit another level of growth. I'm thankful for our entire team that makes it all happen, as well as our customers and partners for supporting us on the journey.
Below are some highlights from the past year. I wish you a happy holiday season and look forward to connecting in 2025!

Rigado Kicks of the Year in Retail at NRF 2024

Rigado Expands Its Presence at the Big Show

The National Retail Federation Big Show is the largest annual gathering of retailers in the world. This year Rigado co-hosted a live demo with Ericsson/Cradlepoint, showing off how retailers can improve store monitoring and asset tracking using their existing fixed or mobile network infrastructure.
NRF is always a great opportunity to connect with partners old and new and study the trends driving retail technology. For Rigado, it was a chance to forge relationships with electronic shelf label (ESL) providers and discuss integrations with many of the enterprise network vendors looking to incorporate IoT capabilities into their products.

2024 Product Highlights

New Rigado Software Features Power the Retail Edge

Early in 2024, we enhanced our Edge Direct network monitoring capabilities with Edge Health Reporting. These features expand the visibility of individual sites and provide actionable feedback in the Edge Direct UI and API, making it easier to resolve gateway connectivity issues in the network.
We also added more reporting and diagnostics from Edge Connect. Edge Connect Metrics make it easier to troubleshoot sensor connectivity issues, monitor IoT data publishing, and optimize performance of IoT data pipelines.

Whether you are already a Rigado customer or considering deploying a retail IoT network for the first time, the combination of Edge Direct cloud-based network management and Edge Connect IoT connectivity enablement and data delivery can dramatically improve your deployment and support experience. Introducing the Cascade 5000 IoT Access Point

In October we made one of our biggest announcements ever: a new hardware platform specifically designed for retail edge IoT applications. The Cascade 5000 features edge computing power and flexible connectivity options that will enable greater scale for electronic shelf label deployments while simultaneously connecting sensors and asset tags in stores and warehouses.

The Cascade 5000 is not only a new product, it represents an entirely new product category in the retail IoT market. The response to the product has been incredible, and we are on track for our first shipments in 2025.

Partnership Spotlight: Rigado and Wiliot

Rigado and Wiliot Partner to Bring Ambient IoT to the Retail Enterprise

In March we announced our partnership with Wiliot, a leader in the Ambient Internet of Things specializing in real-time retail asset tracking and grocery supply chain performance.

We kicked off the partnership with a webinar hosted by Rigado. Rigado VP of Marketing Steve Gorretta also joined the Mr Beacon Podcast hosted by Wiliot CMO Steve Statler, further building momentum.

As 2024 continued on, work between the two companies has led to several customer projects, showing the power of these complementary technologies and the strength of collaboration between the teams.

Our Big 2024 Event: Groceryshop

Rigado Lights It Up at Groceryshop

Our big trade show event this year was Groceryshop, which took place in October in Las Vegas. It's the largest grocery-centric technology show with over 2500 attendees and sponsors. Rigado was prominently featured with an exhibition booth and presence with our partner SoluM.

At Groceryshop, we showed off our recently-announced Cascade 5000 IoT Access Point and integrations with partners including SoluM, Wiliot, and InVue. It was a great opportunity to meet with customers and industry leaders to discuss the future of IoT in grocery and retail.

Throughout the event we recorded demos and recaps, all are available for replay on our LinkedIn Feed:

Thanks to everyone who met us at Groceryshop, we hope to see you in 2025.
